Electronic notary services are a type of notary service that is performed electronically, rather than in person. This means that the signer and the notary do not have to be in the same physical location to complete the notarization process.
Electronic signing is a process of signing a document electronically using a digital signature. This can be done using a variety of methods, such as typing your signature, using a stylus to sign on a touchscreen device, or uploading a scanned image of your signature.
Remote online notary (RON) is a type of electronic notary service that allows the signer and the notary to complete the notarization process remotely, using a video conferencing platform. With this service the notary official verifies identification and signs. Then, the document needs to be mailed for it to be signed by the notary official. This is typically used if you are not racing against time.
Mobile notary is a type of notary service that is performed by a notary who travels to the signer's location to notarize documents.
The best type of notary service for you will depend on your specific needs. If you need to have a document notarized quickly and easily, and you don't mind having to travel to the notary's office, then mobile notary may be the best option for you. If you need to have a document notarized and you cannot travel to the notary's office, then electronic notary services or RON may be a better option.
Here are some additional things to consider when choosing a notary service:
Cost: The cost of notary services can vary depending on the type of service and the location. Be sure to compare prices from different notaries before choosing one.
Convenience: Consider how convenient it is for you to travel to the notary's office or to find a notary who will travel to your location.
Availability: Some notaries may be more available than others, especially during peak times. Be sure to contact the notary in advance to schedule an appointment.
